“We believe this is a man who is finally starting to receive the respect and recognition he so richly deserves and we’re proud to be doing our part in raising awareness of this real life western hero”
Loveland, CO (PRWEB) June 24, 2010
Redefining our image of a true Wild West American hero, Deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves overcame many obstacles during his life to become one of the greatest lawmen in the Old West. In his honor, and in cooperation with noted author and historian Prof. Art Burton of the South Suburban College in Illinois, and the Bass Reeves Legacy Initiative in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Wellington LTD is proud to introduce the Deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves Special Edition.
Focusing on painstaking historical accuracy this edition is built on a Uberti-Winchester 1873 .38-40 cal. carbine, identical in make and model to the one carried by Marshal Reeves, and richly engraved in 24-karat gold and nickel with historically accurate artwork inspired by the life of Bass Reeves.
A Colorado company, Wellington LTD has always stood out from other engraved firearm companies by not only creating a higher quality product, but for also committing to helping raise historical awareness. As part of this commitment, Wellington LTD will give to the Bass Reeves Legacy Initiative Statue Fund a portion of the proceeds on the sale of every one of these historical carbines.
“We believe this is a man who is finally starting to receive the respect and recognition he so richly deserves and we’re proud to be doing our part in raising awareness of this real life western hero” stated company president, Jim Combs. “With the help and guidance of local historian Judge James Spears, who helped with the design, this has turned into a true piece of art. We unveiled this special edition Monday, the 24th in Fort Smith town center and the response has been overwhelmingly positive! A local gun collector, with the NRA, said it was “…the best he’s ever seen!” A feeling that was echoed by a local U.S. Marshal.
Besides their commitment to historical accuracy, Wellington LTD also shows tremendous care and attention in all aspects of each edition, including size. This is a very limited edition, with only 100 being offered nationally. Once these 100 are sold the edition will be closed. By comparison, similar editions from other manufacturers would normally run as high as 500 to 3,000 guns. By limiting the size of the edition Wellington LTD feels this protects those who choose to reserve a numbered edition. They can also maintain higher quality controls and better attention to detail. According to Jim Combs, “We design them to become family heirlooms, to be passed down from one generation to another, and very rarely leave the family.”
This edition has already been well received and lots of low numbers have already been reserved. For more information or to see the Deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves Special Edition Rifle, please call Jim Combs at 866-895-9355 or visit their website http://www.wellingtonltd.com.
