NuRide members achieve record results

NuRide, Inc. today announced that its members have reduced over 100,000,000 miles of driving and redeemed more than $2,000,000 in rewards by walking, biking, telecommuting, carpooling, vanpooling, taking the subway, bus, train, or ferry instead of driving solo.

“This achievement marks an important milestone not only for us as a company but also for our partners, sponsors and members,” said Rick Steele, NuRide CEO. “Together we’ve proven that rewarding individuals for not driving solo reduces traffic, cleans the air, and puts more money in each person’s pocket which is good for businesses and the economic vitality of every community we serve.”

“MetroPool’s partnership with NuRide has been incredibly successful, resulting in the reduction of more than twenty million miles of travel in Connecticut,” said John Lyons, President of Stamford-based MetroPool, Inc., the area’s leading commuting solution company and a NuRide partner since 2005.

“NuRide is a key commute reduction program for our employees that also has a positive impact throughout our local community,” said Mark Still, Vice President for Employee Support Services at USAA, “to date our participating employees have reduced over six million miles of driving while enjoying more than $120,000 in rewards.”

NuRide’s rewards are sponsored by local and national retailers, restaurants, and area attractions including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dunkin’ Donuts, Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Busch Gardens and hundreds of others. “An important part of Chipotle’s ‘Food with Integrity’ mission is to make it easier for people to make more positive, sustainable choices in everyday life,” said Ryann Bills, Southeast U.S. Marketing Director at Chipotle. “Our partnership with NuRide provides a creative avenue to further encourage and reward those choices within our communities.”
NuRide currently works with hundreds of sponsors, transportation partners and employers in support of its more than 48,000 members across Connecticut, New York, Texas, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
