Based on revolutionary intelligent search technology, the innovative tools are designed to adapt to travellers’ individual needs and the unique ways people like to think about and plan travel.
Right off the back of winning this year’s “Best Meta Search Website” award from Travelmole.com, flight comparison site Skyscanner has launched a range of innovative online travel search tools. Based on revolutionary intelligent search technology, the tools are designed to adapt to travellers’ individual needs and the unique ways people like to think about and plan travel.
As well as being able to search by fixed destinations and dates, users can now browse for bargains without having decided when and where they want to travel.
- Whole Month search tool -- Enables travelers who are flexible on dates find the cheapest possible dates to fly to their destination
- Everywhere search tool -- Users can browse for inspiration and bargains from around the world without having to choose a particular destination
- Map search tool -- Users can navigate and choose airports/cities on the Skyscanner map, seeing all the airport options available to them in different regions, plus the direct and indirect flight routes and prices available to and from those airports.
“The inspiration for these tools has come from our own frustrations with how difficult it was to search for the deals we want,” said Skyscanner’s CEO Gareth Williams. “We wanted to create tools that work in the organic way people like to think about travel. Skyscanner can always find the best airfare deals for someone who knows where they want to go and when they want to travel, but with these tools they can start to browse for ideas and bargains even if they only have the scarcest information, such as the departure country.”
In addition to the tools, users who seek further inspiration can also link through on the news section of the home page to a library of interesting and informative travel features on destinations around the globe.
The tools are available in the USA from Wednesday, 23 June, 2010.
Skyscanner provides instant online comparison on flight prices, for over 670,000 routes on over 600 airlines, ranging from short haul searches, such as New York flight deals, to cheap airfares to Europe. With Skyscanner, users can browse without having to enter specific dates or even destinations. Skyscanner also offers car rentals, hotel and vacation price comparison; the site is available in 23 different languages.
