Baltimore-based interactive agency Alexander + Tom has been awarded a gold Addy Award by the American Advertising Federation. The AAF is a nation-wide advertising trade agency with a membership of 40,000 advertising professionals across 200 member clubs. Their annual Addy awards for excellence in creative advertising attract over 60,000 entries. This award was received at the District level and competed against regional winners from Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.

Alexander + Tom was honored for their work on the U.S. Department of Health Resources and Service's Administration's "Stop Bullying Now!" website (http://stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov/kids/). The site is an interactive environment designed as a tool in the fight against the epidemic of childhood bullying. When A+T first began work with HRSA it became clear that although existing Stop Bullying Now! had good information, the site was outdated, hard to navigate, many informative pages were difficult to find, and it was not compliant with Section 508 standards for accessibility, by those using a screen reader, for example.

Alexander + Tom designed and structured an energetic, intuitive, 508 compliant and well-organized website that reflects the best-of-breed tastes of today's youth sites, while remaining appealing to adults. They addressed the segmented nature of the content by dividing the website into two different audience-specific sections, one for kids and one for adults, at the same time A+T recreated the information architecture and navigation so that all of the "top level" content was easy to find.
