The story begun when Isabelle, the wife of a diplomatic attaché with the Allende government who was taken right after the 1973 coup in Chile, flee with her daughter, Theda, to the sprawling slums just outside of Santiago. There she grew up, a strange and isolated child, playing with imaginary friends, the African little girls Ramfis and Nemris. Eleven years after the incident that drove her to live in squalor, Theda learns of her true origins – a revelation that changes everything and the very life she has come to know.

About the Author
Doctor Mario Terrazas Guzmán entered public service in Santiago, Chile in May 1970 at in his capacity as doctor and chief of surgeons. Doctor Terrazas was privy to many patients secrets. His book “Las Estrellas Caen En Pudahuel (Stars fall on Pudahuel), written while the Pinochet regime was still in power adds another testimony in the history of his country.
