UnitiSystem is Naim’s first ever plug-n-play multi-room system and brings together the combined strengths of Naim’s award-winning Uniti family, including the UnitiServe CD-ripping server with its extended music database and library offering almost limitless network storage; the NaimUniti all-in-one audio player; and its recently-launched compact sibling, the UnitiQute (http://www.naimaudio.com).
With the UnitiServe at its heart serving the wireless-capable Uniti players, both controlled via an iPhone / iPod app, the UnitiSystem is perfect for the home owner who desires the highest quality in multi-room audio, but doesn’t want to refit their home with the endless network cabling required to accommodate a custom-installed solution. Streaming is central to UnitiSystem. The Uniti audio players are able to stream from any UPnP enabled device on the network, such as a PC, laptop or Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive enabling convenient access to network-stored music from multiple locations. In addition an onboard DAC means they will seamlessly interface with local external digital audio sources including DVD players, TVs, Sky boxes and games consoles enhancing the total home entertainment experience.
Every element of UnitiSystem offers simple, easy to use interfaces. The NaimUniti has an easy-to-use front panel display, while the UnitiQute - designed to be compact and discrete – can be controlled by a remote handset and its touch-sensitive front-panel logo. Both players can be controlled by a dedicated iPhone / iPod Touch app, providing vivid displays of cover art and extended metadata. The UnitiServe and its music library can be managed via a dedicated iPhone / iPod Touch app, web browser or desktop client interface.
When it comes to installing UnitiSystem, it really is as simple as plug in and play. UnitiSystem will work with an existing home network and wireless router set up – just add the UnitiSystem devices to the network and they will automatically find one another. The UnitiServe is Ethernet connected for the best quality audio distribution, with NaimUniti and UnitiQute offering both Ethernet and wireless connectivity providing maximum flexibility in a multi-room solution.
UnitiSystem is available to purchase from selected leading independent Hi-Fi retailers across the UK from July 2010. The components are priced as follows:

The UnitiServe is available in two variants: UnitiServe and UnitiServe-SSD. UnitiServe will assign ripped CDs either to its internal 1TB hard disk drive or to a nominated network-attached storage (NAS) drive, depending on preference. UnitiServe-SSD does not have internal storage; it has a solid-state drive and will assign ripped CDs direct to a nominated network-attached storage (NAS) drive.
For those who do wish to upgrade UnitiSystem from a multi-room system solely dedicated to audio (some customers may choose to add this functionality at a later date), UnitiServe is StreamNet enabled to work within a NaimNet environment for integration with home automation systems, and will send up to six simultaneous digital audio streams to StreamNet-enabled devices, such as the NaimNet room amplifiers NNP01 and NNP02, situated in multiple locations around the home.
UnitiSystem will facilitate the playback of play hi-res audio files. The Uniti players will play hi-res audio files up to 24bit/96kHz stored on USB through their front panel USB port and from the home network, and their S/PDIF inputs are able to accommodate incoming audio files up to 24bit/192kHz. The UnitiServe will serve up to 24bit/96kHz over the network and 24bit/192kHz locally (from its internal hard drive)
About Naim Audio
Naim has a passionate and committed interest in music. This is as true today as it was at the time of the company's formation in Salisbury, England, over 35 years ago. Enjoyment of music has driven Naim to design and manufacture the finest range of audio equipment available. Top engineering principles ensure that all Naim products meet and exceed the measurable parameters essential for state-of-the-art performance, safety and reliability: all essential qualities for which Naim is renowned. Measurement alone, however, is not enough: every product must also deliver the musical performance that the team could not live without.
Naim quality requires an attention to detail verging on the obsessive: a special and unique approach to component selection and system design, all within a highly specialised production environment. Every aspect of a Naim product’s design has been considered for its impact on sound quality. Even small, seemingly insignificant, production techniques are used, because of the difference they make between delivering a great and an amazing sound.
Naim's toughest critics are its management and its employees. They have always believed that being honest is the only way to communicate with their customers - music lovers and numerous musicians - who regard Naim's products as having no equals in their respective classes.
Naim does not chase market fashion and will not move from its overriding objective of achieving consistent musical performance. The company has its own record label, Naim Label, which specialises in high-quality music recordings, and has moved steadily into the world of audio streaming, multi-room and in-car audio, introducing the award-winning NaimUniti and UnitiQute all-in-one audio players and a range of multi-room audio products: NaimNet, all designed to bring new customers to the Naim fold without sacrificing Naim's legendary performance. Naim also announced an exclusive partnership with Bentley Motors in 2008, with the launch of the Naim for Bentley Premium Audio System, which is available across all Bentley models.
