Aastra announced today that ABP Technology is now an authorized distributor for the Aastra MX-ONE™ Compact. This proven solution enhances ABP's portfolio for the SMB market.

Aastra, a leading company at the forefront of the enterprise communications market, announced today that ABP is now an authorized distributor for the Aastra MX-ONE™ Compact.

ABP Technology is a division of ABP International, Inc. and specializes in the distribution of high-end technology products in the fields of Information Technology and Telecommunications, such as solutions for IP Telephony, IP surveillance, and IP infrastructure.

The MX-ONE Compact provides small and medium businesses (SMB) with a competitive solution for IP Telephony and Unified Communications (UC). The MX-ONE Compact supports standards-based communications protocols like SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) on both extension and trunk lines and is available with a wide variety of terminals (SIP, IP, cordless) and applications. The MX-ONE Compact scales to 1,000 users and can be converted to the full enterprise version of MX-ONE with just a license upgrade.

Many applications are bundled with the MX-ONE Compact, and others are available as additional options. Applications include:

  • Integrated mobility - with fixed mobile convergence mobile phones are integrated into the call manager, so that employees can enjoy the features usually provided by an office desk phone on their mobile handsets, making them more responsive and reachable via a single number.
  • Productivity enhancing tools - tools such as advanced messaging (for voice mail, fax mail and unified messaging) and call screening enable a more user-centric communications experience.
  • Solidus eCare Lite™ - a specially packaged version of Aastra's multi-media contact center solution for enterprise is offered on the MX-ONE Compact, which can be converted to the full enterprise version with just a license upgrade.

"We are very excited to now offer the MX-ONE Compact as part of our portfolio. Our customers have asked us to provide more comprehensive enterprise solutions and the MX-ONE Compact fits that need with its rich UC applications, fixed mobile convergence and scalability to 1,000 extensions in a single cabinet. This solution, coupled with the expansion of our existing efforts in integrating Aastra's full line of IP and mobility end points, gives us a diverse portfolio for this market segment," said Justin Ramirez, Product Manager Voice and Video, ABP. "We look forward to working with Aastra's MX-ONE Compact resellers in the future."

"We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with ABP as they are already distributors for Aastra's IP portfolio including our SIP telephones, our SIP-DECT cordless phones and ViPr™, our multimedia conferencing solution," said John Drolet, Vice President of Sales, Indirect Channels and Carriers, Aastra USA. "One of the things that makes this partnership strong is that we both share a commitment to open standards based IP communications products and interoperable solutions. We are delighted that they will now offer the MX-ONE Compact as well."
