Hot Shot Media is pleased to officially announce Snapshot Scholar, a unique photo contest allowing students at the University of California – Berkeley and Stanford University to vote and compete against each other to win a $5,000 scholarship.
Hot Shot understands the financial challenges students at college face, and aims to reduce that burden through some healthy competition between the two Universities. The champion will win a $5,000 scholarship for himself, as well as a $2,000 scholarship to the department of his choice, further establishing the schools as not only centers of academic excellence in the Bay Area, but also home to its greatest photographic talent.
Students at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco Art Institute, and the Art Institute of California – San Francisco will also be involved with another photo contest, where the prize is a position on the judging panel of Snapshot Scholar.
Hot Shot Media is the developer of a novel, photo-driven, social networking and gaming platform, upon which Snapshot Scholar is based. Through this platform, it will continue to deploy a range of photographic social games, challenges and contests. Ultimately, the company seeks to tap into raw competitiveness and emotion – the primal belief in one’s own skill – in a quest to allow the world to have fun with their memories and discover the world’s most iconic and poignant photographs.
Hot Shot Media finds itself at the convergence of the three most prolific online phenomena: Social Networking, Photo Sharing and Social Gaming. The company’s unique approach to social games fully leverages, utilizes, and complements key social networks and photo sharing sites rather than competing against them. Hot Shot Media stands uniquely poised to chart a new industry genre based around compelling and addicting interactivity with user-generated content.
Hot Shot Media has offices in Sydney and Singapore, as well as its development base in San Francisco, California. It is currently in the process of finalizing a joint venture agreement with Mooter Media Limited (ASX:MMZ), a public company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
