“We put a lot of work and dedication into the Green Globe certification, and are certain to incorporate even more sustainable practices into our daily lifestyle/work routines,” stated Mr. Gerald W. Giarla CCM, Managing Director.
Montego Bay, Jamaica (PRWEB) June 28, 2010
June 3, 2010 marked the official Certification date of The Tryall Club as a Green Globe Certified Destination. The Certification ensures that environmental initiatives, energy and water conservation, waste management, cultural, social and community engagement measures, to name a few, are actively in place on-property. The Certification remains the premier international travel and tourism certification.
Green Globe Certification supports the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC). The GSTC is the agreed international standard for the sustainable operation and management of travel and tourism businesses. The Green Globe Standard meets and exceeds all the requirements of the GSTC.
“The Tryall Club Community has been working toward this achievement for sometime, and is proud of reaching this milestone. “We put a lot of work and dedication into meeting this goal and are certain to incorporate even more sustainable practices into our daily lifestyle/work routines,” stated Mr. Gerald W. Giarla CCM, Managing Director.
Denaye Hinds, Green Globe accredited auditor for the Caribbean, was on site at Tryall conducting the Green Globe Certification Audit, and stated, “I’m impressed with the genuine caring and commitment that the staff and management have demonstrated. They are clearly dedicated to maintaining the highest environmental standards at this tropical paradise.”
T.J. Jett, the Club’s Marine Biologist, on-site Naturalist and Environmental Director, spearheaded Tryall’s Green Globe Certification process. “Sustainability is a word that is becoming more prominent when people think about tourism. It is very important that all of us are doing our part. I am very excited to see that The Tryall Club, members and staff alike, are taking this to heart, being Green Globe Certified is a major achievement for us.”
The Certification requires continuous improvement for compliance and annual Certification status, and within two years, Ms. Hinds will return to conduct another audit and ensure that all of the practices that are put into place still exist and new and ongoing practices are met and undertaken.
