Redline Communications Group Inc. (“Redline”) (TSX: RDL), a leading global provider of secure wireless broadband infrastructure products, today announced that its high-capacity, high-speed, long-range broadband AN-80i radio family has been chosen by the State of Guanajuato, Mexico to reinforce its public safety infrastructure throughout the region.
Over 150 radios will be distributed over a 240 square kilometer area, bringing seamless and always available secure voice and data communications and video surveillance connectivity to 130 remote locations. The AN-80i has been specially modified to meet the exacting requirements of the public safety industry, adding additional security features and enhanced, high-resolution video capabilities to an already industry-leading product. A high-capacity, high-speed, long-range broadband radio, the AN-80i, is the first product of its kind to be awarded a Level 2 Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) 140-2 certification - http://www.redlinecommunications.com/news/press-room/press-room-2010/an-80i-achieves-fips-140-2-validation/
The network will be used to deliver secure communications across the entire area – voice, data and video – giving municipalities additional visibility, and allowing them to react more quickly and efficiently if an emergency response is required. This is Redline’s 40th municipal deployment in Mexico, making it the undisputed provider of choice for local governments demanding highly-secure, reliable communications networks operating under the 4.9 GHz, as well as the recently-assigned 3.3 GHz frequency. Current installations include the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Coahuila, Colima, Nuevo Leon, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Vera Cruz, Yucatan, and the State of Mexico. Major Public Safety and video surveillance networks are also located in the municipalities of Puebla, Solidaridad, Queretaro, Tijuana, San Pedro, Zapopan, Guadalajara, Puerta Vallarta, Cancun, San Luis Potosi, Tuxtepec, and Othon P. Blanco
"Our requirements for a wireless broadband provider were extremely rigorous, particularly since we are now operating under the 4.9 GHz radio frequency for more secure management of our public safety infrastructure,” said Carlos Ruiz, Director of Telecommunications for C4 (Secretary of Public Security). "Redline’s proven track record across Mexico, coupled with state-of-the-art video capabilities, made them the obvious choice when we made this critical business decision.”
"Public safety is a key market for Redline, and we are delighted to have collaborated to provide best-in-class solutions that satisfy stringent benchmarks for speed, capacity, reliability and unparallelled video quality,” said Eric Melka Acting CEO, Redline Communications. “We are proud to help municipalities in Mexico make their streets safer and more secure for their residents."
