Company to provide information technology support services

Centuria Corporation announced today they have been awarded a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Western Area Power Administration (Western), Rocky Mountain Region for Information Technology Support Services. The three-year contract is valued at approximately $5 million.

This contract covers support for all areas of IT including infrastructure, hardware, and software support; database management; cybersecurity; customer support and training; and IT governance and management. The work will be performed in Loveland, Colorado with a staff of approximately 19.

This project will support the marketing and delivery of reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services within a 15-state region of the central and western U.S. Western is one of four power marketing administrations within the DOE whose role is to market and transmit electricity from multi-use water projects. The transmission system carries electricity from 57 power plants operated by the Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the International Boundary and Water Commission. Together, these plants have an installed capacity of 10,395 megawatts.

“This win is a great testament to our experience and ability to support large, mission critical IT systems,” said Kevin Burke, CEO of Centuria Corporation. “We are proud to be supporting Western in providing reliable and affordable power to citizens and businesses.”
The Centuria team includes subcontractor Pacific Western Technologies. The work on this project will begin on July 1, 2010.
