New Powerskin Racer Suit Worn by Top Olympic Swimmers

Arena, one of the leading companies at world-wide level in the sports waterwear category, announced the availability of its new Powerskin performance swim line at select retailers and team dealers nationwide, further solidifying the company’s return to the United States. Beginning in July, swimmers will be able to purchase Arena’s Powerskin racing suits, a proven line of performance swim wear that has already been at the forefront of several major victories, including the 2009 Rome Fina World Championships, the Mare Nostrum and National Grand Prix events.

“Seeing our product back in the U.S. marketplace is a huge step forward for the Arena brand,” said Bryan Smeltzer, vice president of marketing, Arena USA. ”We believe we have the best performing swimwear in the industry and are confident that elite swimmers and teams will notice a difference in our products.”

Arena’s new Powerskin line is approved by FINA and is available in three product ranges: Powerskin REVO, Powerskin XP and Powerskin ST. Our elite level racing products are the REVO and XP, and the ST being ulitized for both competition and training.

Powerskin R-EVO
Weighing less than 100g, Powerskin R-EVO is the lightest and fastest racing swimsuit ever produced by Arena. Made with Hydro-Stealth 100% textile material, this suit features Arena’s patented one-piece thermo-bonding system which features a complete stitchless construction with zero seams on the front. These properties ensure superb stability and body alignment during the stroke reducing surface and form drag.

Powerskin XP
Delivers higher speed in swimming thanks to its revolutionary Z-Raptor fabric which makes the suit smoother and more hydro-dynamic than the competition. Engineered with Z-Raptor fabric (35% Lycra, with 100% horizontal/vertical elasticity), Powerskin XP delivers superior compression on the swimmer’s body and provides maximum freedom of movement. Powerskin XP also significantly reduces surface drag , through optimized stiching and superior Teflon coating.

Powerskin ST
Hydro repellency surface treatment
A highly performing racing swimsuit made of X-FLAT, a very light knitted fabric (142 gr/m2), specially treated to obtain an extra smoother outer surface. The thin, and higher Lycra content (29%), of its X-FLAT fabric, Powerskin ST ensures outstanding comfort and dries quickly. X-FLAT fabric also guarantees excellent durability in chlorinated water and protection against ultra violet rays (50+ UPF).

All Powerskin suites maximize swimming speed thanks to its revolutionary woven fabric, which has a smoother and faster surface compared to the knitted fabrics used in regular swimsuits. Incredibly light yet compressive, with minimum water drag and water friction close to zero, Powerskin allows an outstanding speed performance during racing competitions.

The male and female version Powerskin suits are currently being worn by the world’s most elite swimmers including Team Arena athletes Aaron Peirsol, Rebecca Soni and Eric Shanteau. In addition, two of the most competitive NCAA Swimming Teams (The Men/Women’s Swimming Programs at the University of Auburn and the Men’s Swimming Program at the University of CAL Berkeley) trust Arena in competition.
