AHS did an outstanding job of conducting a rigorous selection process to fulfill their varied and ongoing needs for clinical information to support the exceptional patient care they provide. We're committed to delivering the highest level of service, training and transition support possible.

Lexi-Comp, Inc., a global provider of drug information and drug data solutions for healthcare professionals, announced today that is has secured a five-year agreement with the Adventist Health System (AHS) as their drug information provider. The agreement provides clinicians throughout the system unlimited site-wide access to the Lexi-Comp Knowledge Solution, a comprehensive suite of databases and clinical modules delivered online and on PDA and smartphone devices.

"We are very honored to have been chosen as the primary content provider of drug and patient education information across the entire Adventist Health System," commented Steven Kerscher, President and COO of Lexi-Comp. "AHS did an outstanding job of conducting a rigorous selection process to fulfill their varied and ongoing needs for clinical information to support the exceptional patient care they provide. We're committed to delivering the highest level of service, training and transition support possible."

Lexi-Comp's relationship with AHS began in October 2009 when they signed on to provide drug information services to the Florida Hospital for Children, an AHS facility. This opened the door with the seven Florida Hospital campuses, and in February 2010, Lexi-Comp was awarded the contract to provide their services to 33 hospitals throughout Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. These 33 facilities service over 5900 beds.

"Our selection committee, consisting of pharmacists, physicians, and nursing representatives, evaluated the leading suppliers of clinical pharmacy and drug content," said John Kupkovits, Corporate Applications Officer. "We found that the comprehensive suite of products offered by Lexi-Comp best met our needs and provided a user-interface that the committee found very easy to use. We look forward to providing this content to our clinicians at the point of care to enhance our patient care process."

Lexi-Comp resources available to AHS clinicians system-wide include Lexi-Comp® ONLINE™, a Web-based drug and disease information resource for pharmacists, physicians and nurses offering two levels of drug information, both concise and in-depth. Clinicians can also access Lexi-Comp's information on PDA and smartphone devices, including the iPhone®, iPad™ and iPod touch®; Android™; BlackBerry®; Windows Mobile®; Palm OS® and Palm® webOS™ (Pre™ and Pixi™); and Pocket PC devices.
