“While this show is our first in Boston, we’ve produced a similar show in New Jersey that seeks to provide information and inspiration to attendees, who can then turn that knowledge into action”, states event organizer Ruth Coules.

Grammy Award-winning American musician Tom Chapin will entertain families gathered at PlanetHugger Boston Sunday, July 25. Chapin is a legendary musician, entertainer, singer-songwriter and storyteller. Best known for his children’s music, intended for the age group that is too old for Sesame Street but too young for Smashing Pumpkins. Chapin has been a successful musician in the adult genre as well, and plays in tribute concerts in memory of his late brother Harry Chapin. Many of Chapin’s family recordings carry an environmental message to his young audience including “This Pretty Planet” and “Mother Earth”.
Chapin joins Ed Begley, Jr., currently one of the hottest speakers on eco-living in America. Ed appears at this year’s event on Saturday, July 24. The two day festival will be held at the Seaport International World Trade Center on the Boston waterfront. Ed Begley will speak and be PlanetHugger’s Host on Saturday, while promoting his message to Live Simply So That Others Can Simply Live.
A well-known and respected actor with an impressive resumé that includes both television and feature films, Ed Begley stands out as a committed activist who truly walks the talk. He sets a vivid example by living in a modest, energy-efficient home; driving an electric car long before it became a trend; and often riding his bicycle to Hollywood events. His ultimate do-it-yourself book, Living Like Ed: A Guide to the Eco-Friendly Life, received rave reviews for offering practical, green-living guidance.
Organizers are thrilled to welcome Ed and anticipate an exciting, motivating session that’s sure to spark lively Q&A. Ed offers intelligent, realistic, and up-to-the-minute advice for making small changes to achieve big impact. Ed Begley’s appearance is truly not to be missed and is expected to draw enthusiastic crowds.
PlanetHugger Boston 2010 also will include presentations by other leading environmental experts, scientists and personalities, family entertainment and wholesome food and refreshments. Programs at the event cover a vast array of green topics from lifestyle and home and garden to construction, business, energy, automotive and conservation. A number of programs have been designed specifically for children making this a “must go” family outing. An eco-artists colony is sure to provide earth friendly “eye candy”.
“While this show is our first in Boston, we’ve produced a similar show in New Jersey that seeks to provide information and inspiration to attendees, who can then turn that knowledge into action”, states event organizer Ruth Coules. “We try to provide practical information and great family entertainment at the same time.”
