North Cyprus Holiday Company GoNorthCyprus Rescue Tourists Caught By Airline Failure

The news that Cyprus Turkish Airlines (CTA) has gone into receivership has hit many tourists travelling North Cyprus hard, especially those who had booked direct with the airline. For many, their salvation could be North Cyprus holiday company GoNorthCyprus, who are providing free transfers for those who need to rebook their flights into south Cyprus.

Go North Cyprus

Why should one airline failure stop thousands of people enjoying their summer holiday in our beautiful country?

GoNorthCyprus are offering a free transfer from south Cyprus to Kyrenia in North Cyprus for anyone rebooking flights to Larnaca Airport on any airline, including budget airline easyjet and British Airways.

Although CTA has now been rescued by the Turkish airline Atlasjet, many holidaymakers have lost their flights for their North Cyprus summer holiday this year. GoNorthCyprus have always offered flights to both south Cyprus and Northern Cyprus, so company director Izzet Zorlu saw an opportunity to any tourists on their way to North Cyprus too.

"While GoNorthCyprus has been in constant contact with our own customers, and have transferred them to flights into south Cyprus where necessary, the situation is grim for independent travellers," says Zorlu. "So, we are offering any tourist coming to North Cyprus who has rebooked their flight into Larnaca airport a free one-way transfer to Kyrenia in North Cyprus, worth at least GB£50. We're doing this for one simple reason; why should one airline failure stop thousands of people enjoying their summer holiday in our beautiful country?"

Holidaymakers who have booked their holiday through Go North Cyprus are already being booked on alternative flights, and GoNorthCyprus has always offered ATOL protected holidays through their partner company Cyprus Premier.

For those who have booked direct with CTA, the situation is more difficult, as airlines do not provided ATOL protection on flights. Many passengers will be relying on their credit card company to refund the money, but past experience has shown this can be a long process, and for many, the money won't be returned until after their holiday has happened. So, any little saving they can make, such as a free taxi transfer, is to be welcomed. Larnaca airport is just 90 minutes from Kyrenia in North Cyprus, so travellers who take up the GoNorthCyprus offer can enjoy a stress-free transfer to Kyrenia and a relaxing start to their holiday.

AtlasJet have been operating selected CTA flights from North Cyprus to Stansted and Manchester airports in the UK, and passengers have reported that Atlasjet have been honouring existing tickets for return flights.

However, the future situation is still uncertain, especially for outward bound passengers. The team at GoNorthCyprus are based in Kyrenia, and are experiencing the situation at Ercan International Airport on a daily basis. Their advice is simple: holidaymakers should try to get a refund and rebook with a reputable airline flying into south Cyprus wherever possible, and let GoNorthCyprus take them swiftly and safely into North Cyprus with a free transfer.
