Steam from the cherry wood mold

The hot molten 2100-degree glass is shaped by a cherry wood mold. The mold has been soaked in water and provides a steam barrier between the glass and the wood allowing the glass gaffer to cool, shape and mold the glass.

Pipe Warmer

The stainless steel glass blowing pipes stay hot in the pipe warmer, ready to be used by the glass blowers in the glass blowing process.

Glass blowers

Glass blowers work in tandem to make a blown glass vase in the hot glass studio at the Conway Glass center.
