Officers and directors to be installed are: Michael Brewer – President; Kenneth Burgi – Vice President; Mark W. Bidwell – Treasurer; Jay Stoegbauer – Secretary; John Cogorno – Member at Large; Michael Mack – Member at Large; Diana Teran – Member at Large

At the meeting, members will honor the Harbor Justice Center judge, clerk and bailiff of the year. This year's honorees are: for judge of the Year – the Honorable Margaret Anderson; for clerk of the Year - Terry Gaitan; for bailiff of the Year - Chris Kerr

The Newport Harbor Bar Association meets once a month for dinner and one-hour seminars for continuing legal education with valuable practice tips and tools to assist the local legal practitioner. Members earn MCLE credit, have fun and network with other attorneys. The Newport Harbor Bar Association is not just for Newport Beach attorneys. It is the bar association of Orange County California for sole practitioners, partners and associates working in Orange County who are looking to expand their social and networking base.

The Newport Harbor Bar Association is a fraternity of professionals for the enrichment and betterment of the local legal community. Members are committed to the service of their community of Orange County through their professional roles as attorneys and counselors at law.

President – Michael Brewer
Mike Brewer practices criminal and DUI law, and is based in Newport Beach, California. The Brewer Law Firm is a small boutique that represents an exclusive clientele in state and federal courts throughout southern California, and across the country. Mike Brewer was a criminal prosecutor from 1998 – 2005, handling high-profile cases in Los Angeles and Orange counties. He is Thomson-West’s authority on California DUI tactics in their Leading Lawyers series. He earned his law degree from Tulane Law School in 1990, where he graduated cum laude, while also working for the U.S. Attorney’s Organized Crime Strike Force.

Vice President – Kenneth Burgi: Mr. Burgi has a successful law practice in Orange County.

Treasurer – Mark W. Bidwell
Mark W. Bidwell, Attorney at Law and CPA Inactive has provided legal services in business law, corporate law, estate planning, trusts, elder law and probate since 2002.

Jay Stoegbauer – Secretary: Mr. Stoegbauer has a successful law practice in Orange County.

John Cogorno – Member at Large: Mr. Cogorno has been practicing law since 1975 both in State and Federal court with extensive trial experience in criminal and civil cases. He is licensed to practice law in California, Washington D.C. and Wyoming. He is a past president of the Newport Harbor Bar Association, as well as a past president of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, the West Orange County Bar Association and Lex Romana.

Michael Mack – Member at Large: Mr. Mack has a successful law practice in Orange County.

Diana Teran – Member at Large: Ms. Teran has practiced criminal law since 1988. She started her career as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County where she prosecuted crimes ranging from DUI to first degree murder. She worked in special prosecution units focusing on family violence, sex crimes, and appellate advocacy. In 2000, Ms. Teran started her own practice working exclusively on representing indigent individuals on felony appeals. Her most notable professional success involved advocating before the California Supreme Court to reverse prior case law in order to afford juveniles the same Fourth Amendment protections as adults [In re Jaime P. (2006) 40 Cal.4th 128]. She is bilingual and is currently working on developing a program to educate the Hispanic community on a variety of legal issues.
