Greyston Foundation's Annual Benefit "Celebrating Youth" Raised Over $300,000: Funds Benefit Greyston's Children and Youth Services

"Celebrating Youth" was the theme at this year's Greyston Foundation Annual Benefit, where over $300,000 was raised to benefit Greyston Foundation's children and youth services. Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, along with Ann Pleshette Murphy, founding board member and parenting expert, were honored for their outstanding service and dedication. Greyston teacher Laura Perez and Greyston graduate Vatina Powell presented the honorees to the esteemed guests.

The benefit was coordinated by Co- Chairs Harriet and Rick Helfenbein (Chappaqua, NY), Denise and Jeffrey Koslowsky (Scarsdale, NY), and Patti McCormick and Paul Critchlow (Manhattan) and Dinner Committee Chair Carolyn Bender. The Honorary Chairs were Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Congresswoman Nita Lowey and Senator Charles Schumer.

Greyston's services for children and youth are vital to the Southwest Yonkers community, New York's 4th largest city with the largest concentration of poverty in Westchester County. Greyston provides affordable childcare; free after-school, social, and summer educational programs; as well as adolescent workforce development to the neighborhood's most vulnerable youth. These programs provide parents with the high-quality childcare needed so they can secure and maintain meaningful employment at a livable wage.
