Erlanger, KY (PRWEB) July 4, 2010
On Thursday, July 1, Signature Hardware (http://www.signaturehardware.com) officially broke ground on a 90,000 square-foot addition. Representatives for the City of Erlanger, including Mayor Tom Rouse, joined with Signature Hardware employees for the ceremony. Also in attendance for the groundbreaking were integral members of the project, including representatives from Pilot Construction, Hub+Weber Architects and the Bank of Kentucky.
In April, the growing company purchased 11.6 acres to the south of the existing building. Nearly doubling the size of the building, the new addition will house 78,350 square-feet of warehouse space, 11,658 square-feet of office space. The new space incorporates eight additional dock doors, a separate truck entrance on Dolwick Drive and a 50-foot tall sign integrated on the side of the building that will face I-75 / I -71.
The additional warehouse space will allow the company to continually increase their new product offering and expand the selection offered in existing product lines. The new office space will leave room for future growth of the customer support department and support staff. These expansions are expected to provide additional employment opportunities at the Erlanger facility after its January 2011 completion.
Signature Hardware started as Clawfoot Supply, a web-based decorative plumbing supply company established in 1999 by a Northern Kentucky father-son team. The family has been involved in the plumbing trade, in various capacities, since 1934.
Steadily rising sales and strong customer demand drove the company to expand their product line to include home lighting and decorative door hardware. In an effort to find a more inclusive name under which to sell the newly introduced products, Clawfoot Supply began doing business under the name Signature Hardware in 2005. Growing at a steady pace, the company now has more than 65 employees, a two-story showroom and more than 48,000 products offered.
“By adding this space we will have the capacity to grow into the future and remain in Erlanger,” said Matt Butler, owner. “We will broaden our product line. This will allow us to reach new customers, and, hopefully, they in turn will spread the word about the good people and products at Signature Hardware.”
