Bannockburn, IL (PRWEB) July 5, 2010
As new musical artists flow on and off the charts, others deliver timeless, magical sounds that last for countless encore performances. Stardust Big Band of Chicago is one such ensemble that wows with every blast of the trumpet—and now it returns for its second summer to rock the stage at Bannockburn Green on Friday, July 23, 6:30-9:00 pm.
With roots in the popular 1980s and 90s Déjà vu Big Band—and with Chicago blues at the heart of its being—this 14-piece ensemble comes together again to recreate the sounds we all know and love, like “Perdido,” “Sounds of Spring,” and “Soul Bossa Nova.” Led by Jon McGahan on trumpet and valve trombone, the orchestra embodies musical spirit that rouses people to their feet every time, whether dancing, clapping, or just swaying to the stanzas. With such professional sound and accomplished talent, free admission brings value to the evening—as the concert embodies the shopping center’s mission to provide a place for building community. Families are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and food to enjoy the casual concert under the stars.
Stardust Big Band follows a top-attended performance by season six American Idol™ Top-10 Finalist, Gina Glocksen on Friday, July 16th. Both performances raise the standards for easy outdoor summer concert listening. For more about Stardust Big Band, look on Facebook. Bannockburn Green Summer Concerts are free to the public.
