A little summer music, please - From July 24 - August 7, 2010, Ebb & Flow Arts will present three exciting concerts at the historic Seabury Hall Performing Arts Studio featuring celebrated virtuosos from California, progressive jazz from Europe, original multi media performances, and educational presentations. Over twenty musicians, dancers, painters, and performance artists will participate. Admission to all events is free. 

Our visitng musicians from San Francisco, are experts in cutting edge, modern music. And the synergy is palpable with ourĀ  E&F multi media group that has collaborated for nearly ten years

Saturday, July 24, 2010, 7:30pm, Seabury Hall Performing Arts Studio, 480 Olinda Rd., Makawao,  (http://www.seaburyhall.org) - MULTI MEDIA PLUS - AN EVENING OF SYNERGY based on concepts of Buckminster Fuller.  Original stage compositions featuring music, dance, narration, video, aromas and staging. Works by Tony Walholm, Peter Swanzy and Michael Takemoto. Plus multi media experiments, "Synchronism #6" by Mario Davidovsky, E&F Multi media group - Jamy Woodbury, Lisa Gagnon, Frances Kane, Todd van Amburgh, performance artists, Janet Davis, Frances Ku, visual artists, John Zangrando, Paul Marchetti, Bob Harrison, Robert Pollock, musicians, others.

Thursday, July 29, 7:30 - 9pm - Maui Music Conservatory, Kaahumanu Mall, 2nd level, Kahului, INFORMANCE on modern music led by Robert Pollock,  examples at the piano and by CD playback.

Sunday, August 1, 5pm, Seabury Hall PAS,  CHAMBER MUSIC FROM SAN FRANCISCO with Sarn Oliver, violin, Jerry Kuderna, piano, special guest, Mariko Smiley, violin, others. Pre-concert discussion 4pm. Works by Maurice Ravel, Elliott Carter, Milton Babbitt, Bohuslav Martinu, Ludwig van Beethoven.

Thursday, August 5, 9am - 12 noon, Maui Music Conservatory, MASTER CLASS for area students, led by Jerry Kuderna and Sarn Oliver

Saturday, August 7, 7:30pm, Seabury Hall PAS, PROGRESSIVE JAZZ FROM GERMANY and AMERICAN MODERNS, Cecile Verny, vocalist, and Bernd Heltzler, double bass, with Paul Marchetti, percussion, Shiro Mori, piano, original compositions. Also special guests, Sarn Oliver, violin, Jerry Kuderna, piano. Works by Roger Sessions, Sarn Oliver, others.

These events are part of E&FA's annual, multi day, multi site, international NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST FESTIVAL. Ebb & Flow Arts, Inc. (E&FA) is a non profit presenter of modern music and multi media events. It is the only such presenter in Hawai'i, and was founded in 1999, by composer/pianist Robert Pollock. It aims to break down the barriers between the arts and form a bridge between artistic expressions and cultures. E&FA creates a global sound board and mirror for music and art in Hawai'i. We also teach Maui's children how to read and write music with "Scaling Haleakala," an award winning curriculum.
