Athenaeum Hotel Is On The Hunt For A 'Fabulous Granny Nanny' To Add Some Silver-Haired Glamour To Its Family Atmosphere

The Athenaeum, London's five-star family hotel, has begun the search for a 'Fabulous Granny' babysitter to join forces with its legendary Kid's Concierge to help make the stay special for younger visitors and ease the pressure on busy parents.

“As a family-run hotel we know how to create a truly family-friendly experience,” says Jonathan Critchard, General Manager.

The Athenaeum Hotel has been scouring the country for several weeks to try to find the perfect Granny - someone fun and creative as well as caring and reliable. Supporting the hotel's 'Home from Home' service, the 'Granny Nanny' will care for young visitors in the evenings and weekends, making them feel right at home. There have already been several applicants - and lots of interest - but the search is still on to find the perfect candidate. The service will be a great addition to the hotel's famous family-friendly experience, which includes complimentary kids meals and the benefit of instant access to the hotel's 'garden,' Green Park. Families can also opt to stay in one of the hotels 34 self-contained apartments, letting them choose an atmosphere and set-up that is tailored to their needs.

The Granny babysitter will support the hotel's Kid's Concierge - the first dedicated service of its kind for young travellers, ensuring children have a fun-filled stay.The concierge arranges for guests aged two through to ten receive a toy box filled with specifically chosen toys and games to play with during their stay at the hotel as well as each child's favourite drink, snack, magazines and music awaiting their arrival. A DVD lending library including all the latest and favourites is also available, and complimentary milk and home-made cookies are brought around at bed time. Child sized robes, slippers and hangers are also especially designed with kids in mind.

The Athenaeum also caters for tweens and teens, and understanding how important music and video games are, provides iPod docking stations as well as PlayStations. Families with children aged 10 to 14 also receive priority entry to the Hard Rock Café, located just two minutes' walk away from the hotel on Old Park Lane.
