The sponsorship deal will run until the end of January 2011 and includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1, ITV2 and ITV3, online sponsorship at itv.com/emmerdale, interactive sponsorship, mobile interactive bumpers and licensing.

It means Suzanne better known on tombola.co.uk as ‘blondesusie’ could be seen on Emmerdale for the next 7 months, regularly exposing her to audiences of more than seven million people across the UK.

In all, twenty-five tombola.co.uk players took part in a three day fly-on-the-wall documentary style filming. Each individual will appear in up to 21 bumpers and will feature as the main star in at least one of the bumpers for a few seconds, either at the start or end of the show or between breaks on one of ITV’s most popular TV shows.

Suzanne said “It’s been a really difficult time as my father was recently diagnosed terminal cancer. He sadly passed away last week but he did see me on the Emmerdale bumpers which made him smile and he told me he was proud of me.”

he idents or ‘break bumpers’ were filmed in April in some of England’s well know hot spots, including; Rye town centre, Camber Sands beach and London after tombola.co.uk, which is officially the UK’s most popular online bingo site, put an appeal on its website for players to be a part of their sponsorship deal. Players enjoyed a range of activities on the beach including horse riding, a pottery class, salsa dancing, and a Victorian Fun Fair.

Suazanne added: "It was an experience of a life time. I had a wonderful time and met some amazing people, whom I will stay in touch with. I have now taken up salsa dancing as I loved it so much. I’m really pleased tombola used a scene of me salsa dancing in my bumper! The whole experience really lifted my spirits and gave me so much to talk about with my dad in those last few weeks.”

Head of Marketing at tombola.co.uk, Dawn Clayton said: “Everyone had such a great time over the three day shoot – it felt more like a mini tombola holiday as players just had fun and we filmed them having a laugh together. It’s hard when you hear news like Suzanne’s but lovely to think it cheered her dad up and I’m sure made him very proud. We think the warmth and fun they had together comes across brilliantly in the final bumpers and it really reflects what tombola.co.uk is all about.

Every week, £3m is won in cash prizes on tombola.co.uk – Britain’s biggest online bingo site. Dawn Clayton added: “Sponsoring Emmerdale, one of ITV’s leading brands, is a significant opportunity for tombola.co.uk. The show's reach, the affection in which it’s held, and its values of drama, fun and community make it the ideal partner for the tombola brand.”
