A woman from Beer near Seaton is to enjoy five minutes of fame to star in a national TV advertisement campaign which is due to launch on TV this week when she will be seen by more than seven million viewers during Emmerdale on ITV1.
Suzanne Winter, 43 features in the new series of sponsorship bumpers for Emmerdale which stars real online bingo players by the UK’s number one online bingo site, tombola.co.uk.
The sponsorship deal will run until the end of January 2011 and includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1, ITV2 and ITV3, online sponsorship at itv.com/emmerdale, interactive sponsorship, mobile interactive bumpers and licensing.
It means Suzanne better known on tombola.co.uk as ‘blondesusie’ could be seen on Emmerdale for the next 7 months, regularly exposing her to audiences of more than seven million people across the UK.
In all, twenty-five tombola.co.uk players took part in a three day fly-on-the-wall documentary style filming. Each individual will appear in up to 21 bumpers and will feature as the main star in at least one of the bumpers for a few seconds, either at the start or end of the show or between breaks on one of ITV’s most popular TV shows.
Suzanne said “It’s been a really difficult time as my father was recently diagnosed terminal cancer. He sadly passed away last week but he did see me on the Emmerdale bumpers which made him smile and he told me he was proud of me.”

Players enjoyed a range of activities on the beach including horse riding, a pottery class, salsa dancing, and a Victorian Fun Fair.
Suazanne added: "It was an experience of a life time. I had a wonderful time and met some amazing people, whom I will stay in touch with. I have now taken up salsa dancing as I loved it so much. I’m really pleased tombola used a scene of me salsa dancing in my bumper! The whole experience really lifted my spirits and gave me so much to talk about with my dad in those last few weeks.”
