Speaker Tips for Winning Presentations Gets Award

The Photo Marketing Association and Erin Manning team up for an instructional video on worry-free presentations, winning a Bronze Telly in the 2010 Telly Awards.

It was a banner year at the 2010 Telly Awards for Erin Manning, winning two Bronze Tellys and her first Silver Telly, and culminating in a Bronze Telly for ‘PMA Speaker Tips,’ an instructional video with good advice to help new, nervous, or unsure presenters.

And she does help, enough to gain the attention of the Telly Awards. The PMA Speaker Tips video won a bronze this year in the category of Online Video/Education. But even without the Bronze Telly, the success of the video can be measured by each successful first-time presenter.

On the surface, Speaker Tips is for first-time presenters at the Photo Marketing Association, but the advice is really for anyone giving a presentation anywhere. The motto of the video is, “Stop Worrying and Start Presenting!” A good fundamental to build on for any speaker, professional or not.

As a professional photography teacher and author, Erin Manning has conducted more than a few presentations. But when it comes to giving advice to first-time speakers for the Photo Marketing Association, she can relate first hand. As she says in the Speaker Tips introduction, “...I’ve presented at PMA before, and I can help.”

While Speaker Tips joins More Digital Photo Basics and the Home Studio Lighting Kit educational DVD in award-winning instructional videos this year, Manning has been guiding the aspiring photographer to great pictures with her book Portrait and Candid Photography, photography workshops for Canon, and online classes for the photo enthusiast.
