Cucina Antica Foods, Corp., launched a new product line of pasta sauces in the spring of 2009, Monte Bene™ (http://www.MonteBene.com). For over 10 years Cucina Antica has been making a range of sauces, pasta and olive oil. The Chef/Owner, Neil Fusco (pictured on the right), turned to New Jersey farmers for their sought-after tomatoes for his new sauce line, Monte Bene™.
To offer consumers a more budget-friendly sauce, Neil was looking for a domestic tomato source to blend with San Marzano tomatoes from Neil’s birthplace in Southern Italy, Neil chose to work with farmers in Clarksboro, NJ and Pilesgrove, NJ.
Neil chose the New Jersey tomatoes from these farms for making the Monte Bene™ pasta sauces because the tomatoes are farm-fresh picked, processed within 12 hours of harvesting and travel a short distance to where they are jarred. This method makes for a truly homemade flavor pasta sauce.”
Monte Bene™ offers a healthy, all natural, gluten free sauce that uses premium quality ingredients and truly stands out amongst competitors in having significantly less sodium than other brands, no tomato paste, no corn syrup and no sugar added.
Monte Bene™ was on Good Morning America in January 2010 for a piece on premium companies offering a lower priced brand due to the economy. Prevention magazine named Monte Bene one of the “25 Healthiest Foods for Women” in the June 2010 issue.
