Portland, Maine (PRWEB) July 8, 2010
Patrice Dionne, General Manger of Portland-based Abilis New England, announced today that its parent company has received a $7 million investment by the Société Générale de Financement du Québec (SGF). The investment will significantly contribute to the acquisition plan being pursued by Montreal-based Abilis Solutions, the parent of Abilis New England (formerly known as xwave New England.)
"This is a major investment that signals the confidence in our business model and our reputation within the marketplace. It demonstrates that we are a healthy, viable company with a solid growth strategy in New England, Canada and throughout the United States,” Dionne said.
Abilis is widely known for delivering IT projects with a turnkey approach. Dionne said it is this approach that has enabled the company to provide its customers with high-value solutions on budget and on time. “We are successful in delivering, large, complex IT projects for our customers. Over the years, we developed our own, unique, proprietary project management method that has been the secret to our competitive advantage.”
This innovative approach, stretching back more than 10 years, is continuing to reap rewards. In a highly competitive market, where outsourcing projects to India or China is the norm, Abilis fulfills the majority of its contracts from its Innovation Centres, keeping high-value IT jobs in Montreal and in New England. Over 75% of Abilis’ clients are located outside Québec, and most are within the United States.
The new investment from SGF confirms that Abilis is within a select group of emerging
Quebec companies. In the May 2010 edition of the Journal Les Affaires, Abilis was rated amongst the top five SMEs experiencing the strongest growth through 2009, according to its list of the top
300 SME’s in Quebec.
