OfferMobi, the 1st US based Mobile Performance Affiliate Network, signed up its 1000th mobile publisher this week as demand for performance driven mobile marketing begins to catch fire. The network, which opened in April of 2010, is experiencing exponential growth opening up new marketing channels for mobile advertisers.

In just 78 days from their launch in April, OfferMobi's network has swelled its ranks to over 1000 mobile focused publishers. OfferMobi launched its mobile ad network and agency in on April 20th of this year. Since then, they have been actively sending the current mobile advertising players the message that pay for performance based marketing in the mobile space has arrived.

Borrowing from the online Cost per Action model (CPA), OfferMobi is forging new ground here is the US by ditching the traditional model of paying advertising outlets for impressions or clicks. The OfferMobi model has advertisers paying a publisher only when an action is taken, such as a lead form being filled out or a call is made to a call center.

"This milestone confirms that there is a pent up demand from larger brands to participate in pay for performance in the mobile web. The ROI is greater from performance marketing because it is tied to users taking action," says Mark Roth, CEO of OfferMobi. "We are even seeing Google starting to test this model directly, so we feel we are on the right path."

Roth was referencing Google's latest announcement that they are beginning to test combining their pay per click results to a cost-per-action online ad model.    Google recently announced that it has been testing its cost-per-action service over the last 6 months where marketers pay only for ads that have been acted upon by consumers - such as a purchase or registration on a site. OfferMobi achieves this same model in the mobile ad space today.

OfferMobi promotes brands such as comScore, AllState, Service Magic, 1-800-Dentist, Money4Gold, Art Institute Schools, Hair Club For Men and Nationwide Insurance among 20 or so other advertisers. The campaigns designed and promoted to it's now 1000+ publisher network run the gamut from leads being generated from mobile websites to subscriptions for content based offerings. One of the most promising of all the mobile campaign models has been OfferMobi's click-to-call or pay-per-call model, in which consumers click on an ad and are immediately connected with a call center or operator to assist them.

The OfferMobi Network, which now numbers over 1000, is comprised of independent publishers, affiliates, agencies and mobile ad network operators. In lieu of being paid on a traditional cost per thousand (CPM) basis, the network members receive payments as high as $20 for consumers they expose marketers ads to on their mobile sites or in their mobile applications such as those found on the iPhone and Android platforms. OfferMobi's publishers are able to pick ad campaigns that tightly match their demographic targets and return a much higher ROI for their mobile ad budgets.
