Ever-popular, Two and a Half Men may have actually lost some fans due to bad-boy Charlie Sheen’s embarrassing slew of headlines this year – the majority of Predicto members favor the animated Griffin clan over the bachelor Harper brothers.

Television’s best and brightest will be honored at the Primetime Emmy Awards on August 29. For those wondering which celebrity attendees will be fidgeting nervously and waiting to hear their names called, nominations are to be announced Thursday morning. In the meantime, voters at Snackable Media’s Predicto.com, home of the largest premium text messaging community, are weighing in with their picks for the cream of the primetime TV crop.
One of this year’s biggest small-screen sensations, 88-year old Betty White wowed viewers with her energy and wit when she hosted Saturday Night Live in May. Since the episode was considered one of the funniest of the season, the Predicto community believes White can ride her newfound popularity to a nomination for Best Guest Actress. 67% predict that the Golden Girl will get a golden statuette, with one member so enamored that he wants her to receive more than the Emmy: “Betty deserves it, plus a million dollars just for being so awesome.”
While nearly everyone adores Betty White, the same can’t be said about the two most recent hosts of The Tonight Show. Even though Conan O’Brien gave up hosting NBC’s late-night chat fest earlier this year, his version of The Tonight Show is still eligible to be recognized with an Emmy nod—but so can Jay Leno’s. 63% of the mobile community foresees the two awkwardly squaring off in the Best Variety Series category. Predicto members are split between Team Coco and Team Leno – one voter thinks that the Great Late Night Controversy of 2010 was so newsworthy in of itself, that both shows should be honored: “After the fiasco of hosting and time slots, I'd say they’re both deserving.”
Freshmen series Glee and Modern Family are widely expected to receive nominations for Best Comedy. Of the remaining slots in that category, Predicto’s mobile community has debated whether hit shows Two and a Half Men or Family Guy will also make the cut. Ever-popular, Two and a Half Men may have actually lost some fans due to bad-boy Charlie Sheen’s embarrassing slew of headlines this year – by a margin of 45% to 25%, Predicto members favor the animated Griffin clan over the bachelor Harper brothers.
As host of the red carpet affair, late-night personality Jimmy Fallon is sure to bring a few laughs of his own, but fans are serious when it comes to this year’s nominees. It’s a safe bet that the mobile and online buzz at Predicto and elsewhere will soon turn from speculation on nominations to predictions about who will take home the trophies— and who will steal the show.
