The Virtual Interview Lounge is a new live, virtual interviewing and selection technology that allows managers and recruiters to carry out a large part of the selection process at their desktop http://www.virtualinterviewlounge.com
Fi Haywood representing IACT who built the platform explains “Like computing, the large majority of the selection process will reside more and more in the clouds, and not just the software, the process itself. Increasing the speed, as well as the quality is a prerequisite for success. The process and platform has been designed to support the burgeoning social media recruitment market”.
Asked why the recruitment and selection system is free, she says “it’s a win-win situation. We want employers to use live, virtual interviewing as part of their selection process moving forward. They are more likely to use the interview lounge if they are using our platform already and can take their short-listed candidates straight into the interview lounge. It is a great system that promises to saves heaps of time and money for small, medium and large companies. Some companies will not need to use it and only need the services of the Interview Lounge and that is fine. Others may use the e-recruitment and pre-selection system and never use the Interview Lounge and that is fine too, everyone is welcome. Free means free there is no hidden cost or agenda. Employers will get all of the functionality they need to run comprehensive recruitment campaigns directly from their advert or any social media platform’.
The Virtual Interview Lounge has been designed around a new process that provides a pre-selection ‘corridor’ (VPQ Corridor), a Global Talent Pool (GTP) - that acts as a talent recycling centre, campaign and candidate management tools and a live virtual interviewing lounge. The lounge is fully equipped with a 3-way interviewing, assessment system that amongst other things, allows managers and recruiters to compare the strengths and weaknesses of the presented candidates. The live, virtual interview and assessment system has been integrated into an easy to use web-based video conferencing platform. Organisations can also use this element of the system for training needs analysis, appraisals and other L&D activities.
Fi adds “This new process acts as a super talent highway. Up in the clouds employers can access candidates as well as candidates applying to them, eliminating wastage/bottlenecks. Only the most appropriate candidates drop down into an organisation’s own ATS. If they don’t have an internal ATS, they can access the one within the platform”.
The platform offers three membership packages: Basic (which is free) and gives you access to the pre-qualification corridor, the Global Talent Pool and a campaign and candidate management system. Silver (which is £39 per room per month) which gives you all of the above plus unlimited access to your own private Virtual Interview Lounge with a full interview, assessment and management system (but no video or audio conferencing) and Gold Membership (which is £99 per month per room) gives you all of the above but your room will have unlimited web based video conferencing facilities. Corporate membership is also available.
IACT is a UK company established by Fi Haywood and team specifically to develop this platform. The team is made up of assessment and selection industry experts with a track record for delivering innovative solutions and services.
