“It’s a good time to keep an eye on the energy market at the moment. This new deal from Npower is great but it’s likely to be the start of a raft of new tariffs from all the suppliers."

Npower has launched a brand new online tariff, Sign Online 19, which it claims will save some customers £317 a year.
It’s an exclusive deal for those who can manage their accounts online and pay by monthly direct debit. It replaces the former Sign Online 18 tariff.
Sign Online 19 will save customers 2% compared to Npower’s standard tariff, and this discount is guaranteed until at least 30th September 2011. There is an early termination charge of £20 for customers who leave the tariff before then.
For most average customers on single fuel deals, the new energy tariff entered the top of the best buy tables when it was launched (5 July).
The tariff’s online account management facilities mean customers can check and pay bills online, report their meter readings this way and contact customer services via the Npower website. They’ll receive discounts - £42 for electricity and £52.50 for gas - for paying by monthly Direct Debit.
Chris Eagle, marketing director at Energychoices.co.uk, commented: “It’s a good time to keep an eye on the energy market at the moment. This new deal from Npower is great but it’s likely to be the start of a raft of new tariffs from all the suppliers."
“Because there’s a termination charge if you get your choice wrong, we’d recommend waiting a few weeks and then comparing the whole market before switching.”
