Community Classes for Small Business Exporting Offer Growth and Job Creation

In response to President Obama's National Export Initiative ("NEI") to double U.S. exports over the next five years, Khanstellation Group, Inc., a leading Export Management Company ("EMC"), announced its new schedule of summer/fall 2010 export classes, entitled "Profitable Exporting for Small Business," that will be held at Los Angeles Valley College beginning on July 10, 2010 and continuing through September 25, 2010.

"The courses assist business owners to identify, develop and nurture profitable export markets as part of their business plan," said Asim Khan, CEO of Khansteallation Group, Inc. ("KGI"), an export educator and author who has successfully provided export sales opportunities and growth for small businesses in a wide variety of industries that include agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale, technology and consumer electronics, media, construction and hospitality.

Khan says that the first step to profitable exporting is to develop a realistic export plan. "How you plan to export your goods or services will make the difference between earning a return on your investment in months versus years," Khan added.

"Mr. Khan's Profitable Exporting for Small Business course provided clear instructions to define the export process, expanded on the steps required to develop a successful go-to-market strategy and plan, and demonstrated how to develop business opportunities overseas in a systematic way," said Albert Tulod, CEO of West Chrome Industries, whose company manufactures and designs components for the aerospace, medical, and military industries. "After taking his course, we've successfully expanded to our first export market in Europe within sixty-days and we're enjoying a positive return on investment of 100%."

Small businesses should export for three important reasons: 96 percent of consumers live outside the U.S.; two-thirds of the world's purchasing power is outside the U.S.; and there's a global demand for high-quality U.S. good and services, according to Eric Benderson, associate general counsel with the Small Business Administration ("SBA").

"If you have a product that is selling in the U.S., it is suitable for export," added Khan. "In view of the U.S.'s current economic climate, it no longer makes sense to limit your company's sales to local or even national markets."

U.S. exports of goods and services increased by 16.9 percent during the first four months of 2010, according to data released by the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the U.S. Commerce Department.

Half of all small business will be exporting by 2018, predicts the Institute of the Future.

With expanded government programs available to provide export assistance under Obama's NEI, increased credit lines available from EX-IM Bank and multiple programs offered by the SBA, now is the time to take advantage of export opportunities to grow your small business.

"Companies that are serious about wanting to learn how to make a profit exporting their goods and services to other countries will find Mr. Khan's course to be a valuable tool," noted Michael Atkin, Community Services Manager at Los Angeles Valley College ("LAVC").
