Riverview Conference Center is a place set apart…the conference grounds are nestled near the heart of Cedar Falls, overlooking the dramatic bluffs of the Cedar River and sporting a canopy of shade provided by century-old maple trees. Conference Center services include event space for up to 1,500 people, cabin rentals, a swimming pool, children’s playground, and picnic area with a ball field.
This week the Conference Center will host Singin’ in the Cedar Valley July 12th through the 17th, filling Cedar Falls with melodious sounds as top quality gospel music groups perform. The Crist Family starts the festivities Sunday, July 11th with a free pre-sing at 6 pm. Monday and Tuesday enjoy Spoken 4 Quartet , Forgiven Quartet and The Allen Family. Wednesday night enjoy Shiloh and on Thursday Higher Power, all at 7 pm. Tickets to these groups are $10 and $12. Also on Thursday is the Women’s Seminar at 10 am featuring Michelle Allen, with a free will offering. On Friday and Saturday enjoy two full days of singing with various groups performing from 10 am until 10 pm. The Collingsworth Family will wrap up Friday, performing at 7:30 pm and Mark Trammell Quartet will close out The Sing on Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Tickets two these two performances are $20 and $22. This rich tradition of gospel music dates back to 1968, growing and evolving into Singin’ in the Cedar Valley, drawing people from around the country to enjoy and be enriched by these renowned gospel singing entertainers.
Later this month, July 24th through August 3rd, the 89th Annual Cedar Falls Bible Conference will take place. The Bible Conference is one of the largest of its kind in the United States and has become a good friend of tourism and the Cedar Falls community at large as they draw in biblical scholars and Christians from across the country. Attendees can hear speakers and participate in prayer sessions daily. The conference will also include special activities for the children, concerts and musicians, a swimming pool for cooling off in, and lots of good company. All activities are free of charge. On August 13th at 7:30 pm enjoy the performance of Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Triumphant Quartet performs a free concert on October 9th at 6 pm, asking only that a canned goods be donated in lieu of admission.
