With more than 150 stationery design vendors, many of them Colorado-based, as well as custom greeting options, http://www.scribblepaper.com takes the owners’ “love for paper” and invitation expertise to a broader audience on the web

Scribbles, a two-year-old invitation and stationery boutique featuring hand-picked designer stock items and customizable options for weddings, parties, announcements and more, has launched a new website for online shopping to broaden the reach for its rare and unique paper products.

Under the web banner http://www.scribblespaper.com, the new online boutique features invitations, note cards and commemorative albums for every aspect of weddings, holiday and birthday parties, thank yous, graduations and personal correspondence. What separates Scribbles from the ordinary stationery outlet is the offering of its products in quantities as low as one—party and event hosts can order exactly the number of invitations they need for a small soiree or a larger celebration.

“Both of us have always loved paper and we decided that Denver didn’t have a great place for invitations,” says co-owner Tarn Walsh of her partner Kelly Lessman and their business inspiration. “With the website, we want to take our expertise to a wider national audience, and also to offer our regular customers throughout Colorado the opportunity to shop without having to come to downtown Denver every time.”

Scribbles carries the stationery designs of some 150 designers, many of them local Colorado paper artists. In addition, the shop employs graphic designer Amanda Snyder who creates unique, handcrafted custom designs for Scribbles customers who desire an invitation or card out of the ordinary that expresses their own sense of style.

“Amanda does a lot of custom Christmas cards, for instance, for families who then keep that theme for years to come,” says Walsh. “For weddings, many brides do not want their invitations to look like their parents’, so they work with us and Amanda to create their own unique look.”

While there are needs for stationery and invitations all year round, Walsh says there are really two seasons for the true stationery vendor: wedding season, from January through May, and holiday season, from Labor Day through mid-December.

The biggest season, she adds, is for weddings, and as such Scribbles features a Bridal Suite, “the perfect environment to look through our wedding albums.” Located on the upper level of the physical Scribbles boutique at 2368 15th St. just west of downtown Denver, the Bridal Suite is designed as an experience for the bride to select just the right engagement announcements, save-the-date cards, wedding and rehearsal dinner invitations, place cards and thank-you notes. The Scribbles staff is available most days by appointment for consultation to help brides and grooms sift through the more than 40 wedding albums with stationery to meet the needs of every budget and style.
