The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) will host the first-ever virtual Boarding School Expos October 5, October 24 and December 1. Families interested in learning about boarding schools can attend online for free. Registration is now open at boardingschoolexpos.com.

These Expos are a beefed-up online version of what’s known in the admissions world as “school fairs.” While fairs are typically held at a physical location and accessible only regionally, anyone with an Internet connection and a computer can access the virtual expos at no cost. Parents and students interested in the boarding school option will log in to a rich, dynamic virtual environment to include:

  •     prep school representatives stationed at “booths” in an “exhibit hall”;
  •     an “auditorium” with multi-media presentations offering valuable information and insight into topics like the application process, testing parameters, and the typical school day;
  •     a real-time chat (with video) option that allows direct interaction with admissions counselors; and,
  •     a virtual “book bag” to collect takeaway information.

Prospective families can now explore a large array of North America’s finest boarding schools without leaving home or spending a single cent. (See attached list of participating schools.)

TABS is partnering with 6Connex, Inc., a pioneer of virtual experience technology. The Expos will be “live” online Tuesday October 5 from 4–10 pm ET; Sunday October 24 from 2–8 pm ET; and, Wednesday December 1 from 4-10 pm ET. Attendees can come and go as they please anytime during these “live” hours and spend as little as a few minutes or as long as several hours in the environment. The event will then be “on-demand” with limited content between live dates, and until December 31.
