Altitude Coffee Announces Public Beta Program -- Participants Receive Preview of Altitude Coffee Plus Two Pounds of Freshly Roasted Specialty Coffee

Altitude Coffee (http://www.altitudecoffee.com) a specialty coffee company focused on user-created custom coffee, announces its public beta program and offers all beta participants two pounds of free specialty coffee.

Altitude Coffee gives the users of the website control over what coffees are sourced, what blends are offered, and how those blends are constructed. This is done through a set of proprietary tools created and patented by Altitude Coffee titled “Ascension.” Ascension works by establishing a set of characteristics unique to each single origin coffee stocked by Altitude Coffee. These user-assigned characteristics are then used as the basis for other users to create and alter blends. Altitude Coffee and Ascension have been under development since the beginning of 2010 and it is now accepting users into its public beta program.

“We're very excited to begin the beta test phase of Altitude Coffee,” says Aaron Walls, Vice President of Development with Altitude Coffee, “We have so far had a very positive reaction to the concept with both inside and outside the specialty coffee community.” Walls explains, “Our goal with Altitude Coffee is to give everyone who is interested in the creativity behind specialty coffee roasting, blending, and sourcing, the opportunity to become part of the process. We handle all the boring stuff on our end like logistics and operations, while our users have all the fun in deciding which coffees get sourced and what the espresso blend tastes like. I'll be part of the process too, but no more than a regular user.”

The Altitude Coffee beta program is both a test of the functional capabilities of the site, as well as a necessary step to establish the characteristics of the single origin coffee varieties offered that will compose the blends (including estate coffee, fair trade coffee, and organic coffee). The beta program is free for anyone interested and the participants will receive two pounds of freshly roasted specialty coffee as well as additional ranking points to be used when the site opens officially. All prospective participants should send an email to beta@altitudecoffee.com or go to the website, http://www.altitudecoffee.com.
