With NSi AutoStore, knowledge workers can leverage their existing MFD’s to serve as an information on-ramp to SharePoint Server 2010.
Rockville, MD (Vocus) July 13, 2010
Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, today announced the integration of its NSi AutoStore™ software with the newly released Microsoft® SharePoint® Server 2010. The integration of NSi AutoStore and SharePoint Server 2010 provides a secure method for office personnel to scan documents with an office copier and immediately deliver them into a SharePoint-based business workflow.
SharePoint 2010 facilitates business collaboration in the broadest sense and helps colleagues, partners, and customers work together in new and effective ways. Coupled with Notable Solutions’ transactional document capture capabilities, SharePoint Server 2010 users are able to classify, keyword assign, and deliver documents into their business processes directly from the front panel of an office MFD.
AutoStore is a server application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. NSi supports more brands and more models of multifunction devices and network attached scanners than any other solution.
“With the introduction of SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft has done a great job to further extend document capture, collaboration and workflow capabilities to the broadest set of an organization’s workforce,” said Mike Morper, NSi’s vice president, Marketing. “With NSi AutoStore, knowledge workers can leverage their existing MFD’s to serve as an information on-ramp to SharePoint Server 2010.”
Server-Based Architecture Enables Efficient, Secure Workflow And Archiving
Many corporate MFDs ship with basic scan-to-email or scan-to-folder capabilities but fall short of what’s required to be an efficient, secure component of an enterprise process automation or archiving solution. AutoStore’s server-based architecture replaces scan-to-email attachments with pointers to the file’s location in a repository or folder – reducing the load on email systems and networks – replaces random naming with structured, intuitive file naming conventions, and replaces individual device management with remote, centralized management of every MFD in the enterprise. It also adds a full audit trail for security and regulatory compliance.
This flexible platform can handle anything from ad hoc scanning to complex, high-volume capture workflows, automated data extraction and integration with multiple line-of-business or archival applications – all from the user’s familiar MFP control panel.
Personalization, Automation and Conversion Tools
By logging in using the control panel, users may also personalize their scanning, workflow and output options. Users can easily build a capture workflow using the MFD’s touch screen and NSi’s intuitive on-screen forms. For example, they can select what document indexing data to capture, whether it is automatically extracted from bar codes or machine-printed characters and how the data is validated. Conversion choices include PDF, Microsoft Office file formats and more. Finally, they can select secure delivery of scanned documents and data into more than two dozen document and content management systems.
The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 add-on for NSi AutoStore is availability today for all AutoStore 5 customers. The free download is available through AutoStore’s Software Updates service. For more information on NSi AutoStore and SharePoint is available at
