Virtual Job Hunting Group – First Of Its Kind

In today’s tough job market, job hunting groups are springing up in churches, schools and in empty rooms nationwide. Our nation is doing its best to get people back to work. For the first time ever, a new way to support job seekers has sprung up – a Virtual Job Hunting group better known as the Career Makeover Club organized by Career Coach and Expert, Dorothy Tannahill-Moran. This group kicks off July 27 and participants can call in from anywhere in the US.

The Career Makeover Club is a fee-based group that meets weekly for 8 weeks. In the 8 week period, a strategic approach is taken starting with how to construct a personal Job Search Strategy. Each week an aspect of the job search strategy is reviewed with the participants along with homework assignments and coaching by the leader, Dorothy Tannahill-Moran. The Job Search Strategy covers the typical job search items like resumes and interviews as well as networking, personal branding and time management. “This type of group is unique in that participants are given information to cover their job search in a comprehensive manner and each person is able to obtain vital coaching to help them with their specific challenges,” says Dorothy, the group organizer. She goes on to say “While the various volunteer or free groups are great, it doesn’t really cover everything needed to be successful nor does it give most job seekers direct input on their materials and issues. This does. They get a comprehensive, step-by-step process and support."

A job seeker can expect to be much more successful with this approach. Success for a job seeker is measured by how quickly they can find a new job. The Career Makeover Club is also “virtual” which means any participant can call in to a conference line from their home. It saves time and is very private. All topics and homework are made available to the participant over an online forum. The sessions are also recorded, enhancing it’s already convenient phone-in format. Dorothy adds “If a participant can’t attend, or chooses not to, they can still receive the same information. They can go their own pace and finish as soon as they want to. They can still call into the weekly meetings if they want to receive coaching on anything related to their job search. I call this Pizza Home Delivery for Job Seekers. I have tried to cover all the bases. Easy to obtain, low cost, critical job hunting information plus career coaching. At this point, no one else is doing this.”
