A 4-LP limited edition box set featuring the music of the Everly Brothers has been slated for induction, as one of the first entries, into the newly created archives of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This inclusion continues the Hall's dedication to carrying on the legacy of historically significant musical artists of the rock and roll genre.
The box set is released by 180 Gram Records, a producer and distributor of musical limited edition box sets and other limited-run merchandise, in association with Cadence Records, the Everly Brothers' original record label of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Don and Phil Everly, known as the Everly Brothers, were among the first ten acts inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, which also included such notable rock and roll artists as Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Ray Charles. Additionally, the duo were inducted, in 2001, into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
“It's been 53 years since the Everly Brothers signed with Cadence Records in 1957, and we are extremely pleased that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has decided to honor this legendary duo by adding the newly released box set to their archive,” stated Mark Carter, president of 180 Gram Records. “The Cadence Record period was an extremely creative and prolific time for the Everly Brothers and the Hall of Fame archive inclusion of this box set helps to ensure that their music will be around, in a high-quality format, for many years to come.”
The Everly Brothers are noted for having successfully combined the country music and rock and roll genres with their trademark steel-string guitar playing and vocal harmonies. The brothers were also honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Hit singles from the duo include “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” and “All I Have to Do is Dream,” all of which are included in the collection.
Each box set—part of a strictly limited run of 5,000 sets available to vinyl record enthusiasts and collectors—contains four LPs on 180g vinyl, and features original album artwork and original running orders. Box sets are individually numbered, and each comes with a registered Certificate of Authenticity.
