Singer-Songwriter Hilary Scott Wins International Section of Festival Degli Autori in Sanremo, Italy

Singer-songwriter Hilary Scott was awarded First Place in the International division of the singer-songwriter competition Festival Degli Autori on June 22 in Sanremo, Italy (http://festivalautori.altervista.org). Her prize included a recording contract with Sanremo Productions and several tracks on the festival’s compilation CD, which will be distributed and sold throughout Italy. Hilary's winning song, "And Just," will appear on this compilation, as well as a song she co-wrote with Italian songwriter Maurizio Opinato entitled "Bring Back My Smile" and the festival theme song, for which Hilary wrote the English verses.

Hilary Scott performs in the U.S. and internationally as a singer, pianist, guitarist and violinist, both solo and with her band. Currently touring in the US, Hilary has opened for Little Feat, Tanya Tucker, Beth Orton and other artists. She has performed and toured in South Korea, Vietnam, Italy and France, and will head to Japan in September for a three month extended engagement. In February of 2011, she will return to Italy to record with producer Euro Ferrari, who has worked with artists such as Eric Clapton, Isaac Hayes, and Luciano Pavarotti, after which she will tour in Italy and France with French folk artist Norfolk in appearances booked by Agnes Dautraix of Miss Lucy and Company, which also represents Murray Head and Kate Taylor.

Hilary is signed to the independent label Belltown Records, and has just released her eighth album, “Indigo.” “Indigo” has been picked up by Chi Lin music for distribution in Taiwan. Other Hilary Scott albums include “Road to Hope,” “Out of the Wilderness,” “The Floating World,” “Come In, Come In: LIVE, “Best of Hilary Scott Live Volume One,” “Hypothermia” and a joint venture with Wes Wingate of Hometone Records entitled “Consonance.” When not touring, Hilary calls Sammamish, Washington her home, and also spends time in Missouri, where she lived for seven years and has built a strong Midwest following.
