vpi Inc., a leading Canadian Human Resource and Employment Services firm is proud to be one of the companies selected by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities as a continuing service partner of MTCU, under the Employment Ontario banner, launches its new and innovative full-suite employment service delivery model, effective August 1, 2010. vpi, which provides a full range of employment-focused services to a wide variety of Canadian organizations and government agencies, considers its 22 year relationship with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) to be one of its most important, and looks forward to continuing as a contracted service provider.
vpi has put into place an organizational re-alignment strategy as it positions itself to meet Employment Ontario’s new service requirements. Over the next few months vpi will be consolidating operations currently delivered out of 32 locations, to 12 larger facilities within a geographic region that runs from Oshawa to Hamilton, and north to Walkerton, remaining headquartered in Mississauga. Comprehensive, client-centred employment services, as contracted by Employment Ontario, will be offered to community residents from each of these 12 locations.
“In more than 22 years of working with individuals, insurers, employers and many public partners across our multiple lines of business, vpi has continually drawn on its significant experience to improve the employment capacity and experience of the many thousands of clients who walk through our doors,” says vpi President and CEO, Gail Rieschi. “Through our association with MTCU and its predecessor agencies, we have helped more than 250,000 unemployed and underemployed Ontarians design and execute their new career strategies, in turn ensuring that the employers of Ontario have a well developed labour force available to them. We are very proud of this achievement. In preparing for our new role, vpi is combining its vast employment services and assessment expertise with new technology that will set a new standard for quality programming and outcomes that deliver great value to all of our clients and customers.”
Under its contract with Employment Ontario, vpi will deliver service in Toronto, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Durham, Halton, Hamilton, York Region and Bruce County and will be dedicating a team of more than 100 professionals to the delivery of employment services in these locations. Employment Ontario clients currently being served by vpi in locations that will be served by other EO service providers beginning in August, are being transitioned throughout the summer. While EO-contracted services will be delivered by other agencies in these locations, vpi will continue to deliver its full range of HR and employment facilitation services to all other customers and clients in these locations and throughout Ontario and the Maritime provinces in a business-as-usual fashion.
“We are proud of the work we’ve done on behalf of the government of Ontario,” says Jason Linton, Director of Field Operations with vpi. “Our people have become very involved in the communities they serve, and we’ve built tremendous bridges between unemployed workers and employers. We’re looking forward to continuing to strengthen these community relationships.”
