New York, NY (PRWEB) July 15, 2010
Knewton, a leading educational technology company, today announced the first day of sign-ups for its SAT Summer Boot Camp program. The inaugural SAT Summer Boot Camp, which begins August 1, is an intensive month-long program of free SAT prep courses for high school students. The program will also include online webinars and study guides aimed at helping parents prepare their students for both the SAT and the college application process. Space in the free Boot Camp is limited to the first 300 families to sign up.
“Preparing for the SAT is a rite of passage for the whole family, not just the student taking the test. That means everyone has homework to do,” said Jose Ferreira, Knewton CEO and Founder. “The idea behind SAT Summer Boot Camp is to allow parents to take a more scientific approach to helping their kids prep for the test and the college admissions process as a whole.”
The month-long program will feature four different online webinars, on the following topics: developing a calendar of deadlines; determining a target list of schools; budgeting for college costs; and setting a study schedule for the fall. In addition, there will be a series of webinars designed for both students and parents that will focus on the SAT and the college admissions process. Webinars will feature practice tests and “SAT workouts”—quick, high-impact activities to get parents and students alike ready for the grueling college admissions process.
In addition to these free online sessions, all Boot Camp participants will receive:
- A month of Knewton’s customized online SAT classes, streamed live
- Personalized, one-on-one attention from top SAT teachers in every class
- Weekly homework assignments supporting critical SAT concepts covered in class
- Weekly webinars with inside information from college admissions experts
- Free “New Recruit Pack” with tangible goods that will help on test day
The first 300 sign-ups for the SAT Summer Boot Camp are free. Registration closes July 31. For more information, please visit http://www.knewton.com/satbootcamp.
