ABC Imaging purchases forward-thinking regional printing and reprographics firm. Graphic Reproduction has been an industry leader for 50 years. Firms share commitment to innovation, quality, and customer service.

Our two companies are very similar—we both value quality and we both want to provide our customers the best possible service with every job.

ABC Imaging, a Washington, DC-based printing and document technology company, announced today that it has acquired Graphic Reproduction of Concord, CA.
Founded in 1959 Graphic Reproduction has a long tradition of being in the forefront of digital printing and reprographic technology. Like ABC Imaging, Graphic Reproduction combines innovative technology with core philosophies of high quality and rigorous customer service.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to be the new owners of Graphic Reproduction,” said Medi Falsafi, President and CEO of ABC Imaging. “Our two companies are very similar—we both value quality and we both want to provide our customers the best possible service with every job.”

“ABC Imaging is a proven leader in printing and reprographics, especially outsourced printing and the technology to go with it,” said Walt Walker, President of Graphic Reproduction. “Our customers will appreciate the added dimension that ABC Imaging brings to the business.”

For ABC Imaging the acquisition adds three production hubs in the San Francisco area. The largest Graphic Reproduction location, in Concord, CA, includes extensive production capability. The facility can print a full range of products using small, large, and wide format digital printers; 3D printers; and specialty printing and graphic arts equipment.

“Graphic Reproduction offers many of the same products and services as ABC Imaging,” Mr. Falsafi said. “We were attracted to the fact that they have always looked ahead and are early adopters of new print technologies.”

Walt Walker, the force behind Graphics Reproduction, believes it makes good business sense to invest in new technologies. In 1959, his first shop included Xerox copiers. He was quick to add the Opti-Copy Camera process in the ’70s. As CAD began to be adopted by architects and engineers, Mr. Walker made Graphic Reproduction the first CAD service bureau in San Francisco.

In the early ’90s, Graphic Reproduction added laser plotters, the precursor to today’s large format digital printers, to its production department. Another milestone occurred in 2008, when Mr. Walker purchased a 3D printer for modeling and rapid prototyping, making Graphic Reproduction the first printing company in the Bay Area to own this technology.

Graphic Reproduction has an extensive fleet of delivery vehicles, which enables them to provide service beyond the Bay area to Sacramento, Stockton, and other major cities in Northern California. They have equipped their vehicles with automated GPS software to monitor and improve deliveries.
