‘Armed for Success’ Global Campus Event Makes Sense of GI Bill and College/Career Options

Armed for Success is a free global event for the military community.

Members of the military community seeking academic and career fulfillment will discover everything they need at the Armed for Success online education event taking place Friday and Saturday, September 17 & 18 – 9 AM to 6 PM Pacific time. This virtual online gathering will provide its global audience with helpful seminars and workshops, excellent opportunities for networking, and valuable support from college advisors.

“We’re taking online campus events to the next level, and for the most deserving audience imaginable,” says Matt Brogdon, event General Manager and a military vet with more than a decade’s experience helping transitioning service people. “Attendees will learn to get the most out their GI Bill benefits, overcome transition challenges, and match to the right training and education that will lead to a bright future - all from the comfort of a computer or laptop, at home, or office – anywhere around the world, and at no charge.”

Attendees seeking school success will find all the essentials of a traditional campus visit, with no registration fee, travel hassle or expense involved:

  •     THE MAIN EXHIBIT HALL – Where schools will be providing first-hand information about programs and services, and connecting attendees with admissions counselors.
  •     THE EDUCATION HALL – Proven experts providing attendees with crucial education and career insights, useful ideas and tips, through live keynote addresses plus live and on-demand college information sessions.
  •     THE RESOURCE LIBRARY – Providing attendees with research and other tools to help with their education planning process. These sessions can also be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 months after the live event.
  •     THE NETWORKING LOUNGE - Attendees will meet with other military service members, experts and admissions advisors to get instant feedback to their questions.

The event is powered by Virtual Campus Events (VCE), an affiliate of World Learning Network. VCE chose to support the military audience with this free event to assist the countless thousands of returning service people who have put their lives on the line in Iraq and Afghanistan. Armed for Success will help them easily navigate the financial aid maze, connect with helpful advisors and explore school programs that match them to an in-demand career field.

“The members of our military have done so much for their country, and now it’s our chance to give something back,” says Brogdon. “Armed for Success brings together top military and education leaders to ensure attendees take complete advantage of their GI benefits, fully understand all of their college options, and make all the right moves academically and professionally.”

Accomplished military talent and transition experts have already committed to speak, including Dr. Steven Keihl, a renowned educator and military veteran, and Wes Reel, a Gulf War veteran and recognized career transition expert. The full speaker roster is being announced in the near future.
