The National Football Post, a unique and fast-growing interactive web site featuring football information, insight and opinion from experienced voices, is pleased to announce that Dan Pompei, one of the nation's accomplished and respected football journalists, has agreed to join the site as a contributor.
Pompei brings his 27 years of experience as a sports journalist to NFP. He has covered the NFL and the Chicago Bears for the Chicago Tribune since 2007. Prior to that, he was a senior writer for The Sporting News, writing the NFL Insider column from 1997-2007.
Pompei is one of 44 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection board and one of nine members on the Seniors committee. He has covered 23 Super Bowls, watched two teams run drafts from inside their war rooms, and been allowed access to teams’ interviewing of prospects at the Senior Bowl and Combine. He has been honored twice by the Pro Football Writers of America for best feature writing. Pompei has also been a regular contributor to ESPN's First Take and Comcast's Chicago Tribune Live.
Pompei said: "I am thrilled to be contributing to a site that is a must read for anyone associated with the NFL and anyone who loves the NFL. It’s a pleasure to be associated with Andrew, Jack, Matt and their outstanding group of professionals."
National Football Post president and The Business of Football columnist Andrew Brandt remarked: “We are delighted and privileged to bring on someone with the credibility, contacts and professional reputation as Dan. He has great respect from fellow journalists and the highest levels of the NFL. He will fit right in with our unique and differentiated football content.”
