Pokeriety -- the Game of Cool

International Poker Players Assn. founder and CEO Yosh Nakano has just announced the launch of his company's new Facebook game app -- Pokeriety.

Pokeriety, a.k.a. "The Game of Cool," is unique as a Facebook poker game because players can form teams for social networking and create their own customizable avatars, participate in online chat while playing and play among friends in private game rooms.

Noting that Pokeriety's variety of poker is the popular Texas Hold 'Em version and that it is not a gambling game, Nakano -- a high-stakes poker professional and winner of CBS' 2006 Intercontinental Poker Championship -- said Pokeriety is the culmination of a personal vision to bring the most engaging aspects of poker to the world of Facebook game apps.

"As an experienced player, I wanted to take social networking to the next level by giving players the ability to create their own teams, promote camaraderie and incorporate the grassroots aspect of Facebook," Nakano said.

Nakano said that among Pokeriety's upcoming features are Celebrity Mondays, Challenge Wednesdays and Cool Fridays. He also noted that Pokeriety is a vital part of IPPA's growth strategy and is working hand-in-hand with its newly relaunched poker lifestyle website, http://www.IPPAGlobal.com, which caters to the unique lives of serious poker players.

Nakano sees Pokeriety as an adjunct to IPPAGlobal.com's mission to raise the image of poker and the profiles of top poker enthusiasts around the world.

In December, IPPA is hosting the Monte Carlo IPPA Championship in partnership with SBM. The poker tournament offers $12 million in prize money, of which $5 million will go to the winner.
