AspireHR University delivered an “HR309 – Overview of SAP Payroll Processing” course this week to exceptional reviews.
HR309 is a two day course that covers SAP payroll processing fundamentals and is conducted at the University’s campus in the Dallas area. The course introduces students to “A Day in the Life of An SAP Payroll Administrator.” The HR309 course is designed to provide Payroll and Human Resource professionals that support SAP HCM with the tools to understand how the SAP payroll system works and its integration of other modules. This is not a configuration class and no configuration experience is required.
The class reviewed the required HR master data for payroll, the correct way to change employee master data and the impact it has on payroll. Each step of the payroll process, from start through posting to the general ledger, was thoroughly analyzed. Information was included on what occurs in the system as each step in the payroll process is executed, why the execution order is important, and tips on how to prevent issues during the payroll cycle. Retroactive payroll processing was also covered in detail, including how to recognize retroactive changes and read payroll clusters. Additional material included off-cycle processing, the purpose of process models, and standard-delivered payroll reports.
Hands-on exercises were provided in:
- Payroll processing
- Master data relevant to payroll
- Organization of payroll procedures
- Retroactive accounting
- Payroll reporting
- Data transfer to Finance and controlling
- Bank transfer processing
- The process model for payroll and subsequent activities
The next session of HR309 will be offered at the Dallas campus August 25 through August 27.
