Internationally acclaimed TV commercial director and rally race specialist Jeff Zwart left no question unanswered when he blew away the competition at the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in his Luminox sponsored, specially prepared Porsche GT3. Zwart not only ran a record setting qualifying run but finished the weekend by winning the Time Attack Class by more than 38 seconds over the previous record set in 2009.

Internationally acclaimed TV commercial director and rally race specialist Jeff Zwart left no question unanswered when he blew away the competition at the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in his Luminox sponsored, specially prepared Porsche GT3. It wasn't enough for Zwart to set the qualifying record, which he did by 18 seconds. The culmination of the weekend had to include setting the all time mark in the Time Attack class, which Zwart did by surpassing Rhys Millen's 2009 record by an astounding 38 seconds. First contested in 1916, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motorsports race in America, behind only the Indianapolis 500.

"Jeff is known for his high adrenaline fast-paced TV commercials and of course his many wins behind the wheel of fast vehicles. He is a great representative for the Luminox brand which creates products built to withstand the challenges and adventures someone like Jeff faces," remarked Luminox founder Barry Cohen.

For Luminox, teaming up with Porsche Motorsport and Pirelli tires to support Zwart meant working with the best in the industry which became evident from the very beginning as Zwart set a record in the qualifying round. The 450HP 2007 Cup car (updated to 2010 specifications) then proceeded to rule the day during the 88th running of the race by skimming 38 seconds off of the previous record and winning the Time Attack class. Soon after the race Cohen said, "given that Jeff Wears Luminox as his daily watch and specializes in off road racing, it just seemed to make sense to align with him in his effort to set a new record at Pikes Peak. As luck, or should I say Jeff's skill would have it, he had the fastest qualifying time, won his class again, and in the process, set a new record. Luminox went along for the ride, if you'll pardon the expression."

After the championship run was complete, Zwart praised the combination of sponsors whom he worked with. "Without Luminox watches, Porsche Motorsport North America and Pirelli tires support, this victory would not have been possible," Zwart said.

Luminox is proud to support Zwart and to work with him on future endeavors. Because of the durability, Luminox Light Technology (self-powered illumination system), and functionality built in every Luminox watch, they are ideal timepieces for those that live an active or adventurous lifestyle. With partnerships in military and special ops, Indy car racing and deep sea diving, Luminox watches have become "essential gear" for all those seeking a timepiece that is always visible, even under extreme conditions.
