The first-ever Gay and Lesbain Wedding Planning Resource Guide features interviews with nationally-renowned event planners Frank J. Andonoplas (owner of Chicago-based Frank Event Design) and Bernadette Coveney Smith (author of Gay Wedding Confidential: Adventures and Advice from America's #1 Gay Wedding Planner) as well as diversified content for same-gender couples as they plan their ceremonies locally, or consider options for ideal destination wedding hotspots. Regional Quick Facts are outlined to assist couples in understanding the legal options available in various states, as well as in Canada.
“Our goal with the Planning Guide is to inspire,” states senior editor, Marianne Puechl. “Gay and lesbian couples today crave legitimization, and very down-to-earth, tangible ideas about how to go about creating the Special Day of their dreams. Rainbow Wedding Network Magazine spotlights real couples throughout the country, along with interviews and articles from officiants, event planners and other professionals who work in the industry everyday. Many readers tell us that the magazine is highly informative and joyful, but also truly uplifting!”
Rainbow Wedding Network Magazine began publication in 2006, and is currently distributed by Ingram Periodicals. Available online and in print, the quarterly glossy is soon to be formatted for Kindle applications as well as iPad and iPhone. Subscriptions are $29.99 per year, with ‘Go Green’ (online-only) subscriptions available at $9.95.
Developed in 2000, Rainbow Wedding Network.com (RWN) has grown to become the most extensive wedding resource for the gay and lesbian community in the United States. Following the success of its first Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo in Minneapolis in 2003, RWN has produced over thirty-five such events in seventeen states throughout the nation, with twelve additional Expos scheduled for this year. In 2006, the company began publication of Rainbow Wedding Network Magazine, the first such publication specifically dedicated to gay & lesbian weddings. An updated version of the main website, offering a high degree of social networking and other interactive features, was launched in 2009. In celebration of the ten-year anniversary of Rainbow Wedding Network, this Fall will mark publication of a signature book by the company’s founders, “My Dangerous Commute: Witnessing Gay Marriage Rights Across America.”
