In “Viva! Saint Agrippina”, Boston Independent Filmmaker, Chris DiNunzio has created a personalized glimpse into the feast of Saint Agrippina – a celebration of family, tradition and culture held annually in the historic North end.

“Even though I’ve been going there since I was born, this was a way of letting them tell the story, making the Feast their story”. Chris DiNunzio, film maker

Tradition, community and family are celebrated in the upcoming documentary “Viva! Saint Agrippina”. Premiering Thursday, July 22 at the Stuart Street Playhouse, the film chronicles the annual 3-day feast celebrated in Boston’s North End the first weekend of August.

The latest creation of Boston independent filmmaker, Chris DiNunzio of Creepy Kid Productions and executive producer, R. Harvey Bravman of Advanced Digital Websites, Inc., the film follows members of the Saint Agrippina Benefit Society through the entire event - from initial planning to behind-the-scenes footage of the feast itself honoring the martyred saint.

The celebration originated in Mineo, Sicily and has been continued locally in Boston by The Saint Agrippina Benefit Society since 1914.

The Feast has always been a family tradition for DiNunzio. It was this life-long connection that inspired the film and allowed him to lend a personalized feel to it. While the celebration has religious roots, the film focuses upon Society members. Through their voices, the documentary chronicles the inter-twined bonds of tradition, culture, family and community. DiNunzio says “Even though I’ve been going there since I was born, this was a way of letting them tell the story, making the Feast their story”.

Previously focusing on a darker narrative style, DiNunzio sees the “Viva” documentary as a perfect opportunity to expand his film repertoire. Executive Producer, R Harvey Bravman agrees, adding, “This is my second project with Chris and our plan is to collaborate on many more. My company, Advanced Digital Websites, Inc. is proud to sponsor the premier of “Viva! Saint Agrippina” and its upcoming DVD release”
