On the heels of VMware’s release of vSphere 4.1, Great Lakes Computer, a billion dollar VMware Enterprise partner published its demo schedule for vSphere DRS, DPM and Dell’s EqualLogic 10GB iSCSI product at its upcoming VMworld 2010 conference in San Francisco.

Located in booth #113 of the Solutions Exchange of the Moscone Center, Great Lakes Computer, an industry-leading technology partner, will have on site VCPs and engineers performing demonstrations of several advanced features of VMware and showcasing the ease of use of Dell’s new 10GbE iSCSI product line.

Offering something for everyone, Great Lakes Computer will be running a full blown ESX 4.1 environment in a multi-platform hardware configuration, consisting of a Dell PowerEdge R610, HP ProLiant DL360G6, IBM System x3550 M2, all connected to a Dell EqualLogic PS6010 10GB iSCSI SAN via a Juniper EX4200 switch.

VMware DPM - VMware Distributed Power Management (DPM) continuously optimizes power consumption in the datacenter.

VMware DRS - VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) continuously monitors utilization across resource pools and intelligently allocates available resources among virtual machines, according to business needs.

Dell EqualLogic - Dell’s flagship storage product, EqualLogic arrays, come complete with a comprehensive set of advanced data protection and management software, with no additional software licensing cost.

In addition to higher consolidation ratios and improved performance, vSphere 4.1 incorporates new products specifically targeted towards the SMB market. vSphere Acceleration Kits are solution bundles designed for midsized customers that are new to virtualization. vSphere SMB Kits target small IT environments with fewer than 20 physical servers, but integrates enterprise class capabilities such as vMotion.
